A little faith tip:  Two things you cannot go over board on are Bible Study and Prayer.  Time spent with the Lord will show you how best to serve Him and be a good steward of your time with your family and your church.

Begin the new year by coming to Life Light and study Genesis... You will get to join in the discussion on the drama that moves us from God the Creator, the intriguing story of Adam & Eve to the tragic story of Cain & Abel & their descendants to Noah......than sinful people decide to build the first sky scraper.

But God intervenes and sends Abraham who becomes a great patriarch.  There is much colorful, and majesty in the early chapters of this wonderful book, inspired by the Holy Spirit.  God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Nobody ever outgrows Scripture; the book widens and deepens with our years.  Everyone is invited to join Life Light Bible Study beginning Monday September 12, 2011 @ 7:30 PM.  The study will be on Peter 1 and 2.  Peter valued his Jewish heritage, but God used Peter to affirm the faith and proclaim the Gospel among the Gentiles.  Learn what incredible things God can do thru the life of a humble fisherman.

Hello from Afghanistan

Thank you very much for the care packages that you sent.  It could have not come at a better time.  We have a big mission going on and we sent out everything that we had to the soldiers that were going out.  What you sent helped us more than you would know.

I passed out your cards and gave out thank you cards to the guys, so you will be getting letters in a few days.  Other than that, not much going on.  I just got back off R & R leave.  Had a great time back home with the family.  Just trying to get back in the swing of things.  I will look and get you some pictures next time I write.

Thanks from Afghanistan

We have received some thank-you notes from soldiers in Afghanistan for the goodies we sent recently.  These men of the 3^rd Battalion - 320^th Field Artillery of the 101^st Airborne (Air Assault) "Screaming Eagles" and the 82^nd Airborne "All-American" Divisions are very grateful for the support that they receive from "Back Home".  The notes are available to read in the narthex.

We should keep them, and all the other sons and daughters of America who have answered our nation's call to duty in times of trouble, in our prayers.
